Reverberation

The textured street scape is often overlooked. reverberation takes these textures and replicates them in a seamless infinite reflection. Highlighted by light, this is a modern approach to the peppers ghost illusion. Viewers will have a unique view, no matter at which angle the installation is observed. The arrangement of the array is such that perspective will always change.

The concept behind the interactive element in this installation is one of subtlety and discovery. Pedestrians walking past the installation will be detected by a depth camera. This in-turn triggers audio samples played out from within the monoliths. Patterns ripple over the extruded LEDs around the monolith all sequenced in parallel. Sequences trigger various parameters e.g. relative proximity ramps the LED intensity.
